Quick answers for the Amplio™

The questions ELT Service hears most, answered from the user guide. For anything else, ask on the community board or call. A person answers.

Why does it squeal or howl?

That is feedback: sound from the speaker is reaching the microphone. Lower the volume and turn the speaker away from the microphone. Watch for walls, windows and tabletops that reflect sound back.

Why does my voice sound breathy, or pop?

The microphone is in front of your mouth, in the path of your breath. Move it beside the corner of your mouth, about a finger-width away.

The PWR light is on, but there is no sound.

Push the microphone plug fully into MIC IN, not EARPHONE. If an earphone is plugged into EARPHONE, the speaker is muted.

There is no sound and the PWR light is off.

Rotate the volume control further to the left. If the light stays off, charge the battery.

How do I charge it, and how long does a charge last?

Snap the magnetic cable onto CHG IN. The red CHG light turns green when the charge is complete, after 4 to 6 hours. A full charge typically lasts 24 hours.

The CHG light never comes on.

Check that the wall outlet is live: in many rooms the upper outlet is controlled by a wall switch. Make sure the magnetic tip is clean and fully seated on CHG IN.

How loud should I set the volume?

Speak at a comfortable, relaxed level and increase the volume slowly until your voice reaches a natural conversational level. Then back it off slightly: your listeners hear more than you do.

A full charge no longer lasts the day.

Charge fully for 4 to 6 hours. If a full charge still does not last the day, contact ELT Service about battery service and replacement.
