ChatterVOX® Model 100 (Clarus™)

Portable Voice Amplification System

The Model 100 is the original waist-worn ChatterVOX®, conceived in 1998 for a revered mentor of the developer. It earned its stripes with voice patients, and with teachers and tour guides who strain their voices when they present. It is widely considered the world’s benchmark. With its headset microphone, it boosts vocal output by as much as 15 dB. It boosts even more for esophageal speakers and electrolarynx users, with the transdermal neck microphone.

Quick start

Five steps to your first conversation

  1. Charge at least 12 hours before first use. The charging port is on the bottom edge. After that, charge overnight.
  2. Fit the waistband amplifier at the front of your waist, speaker grille facing forward.
  3. Fit the headset over the top of your ears and around the back of your head, boom on the right. Capsule beside the corner of your mouth, flat side toward your mouth.
  4. Insert microphone plug with the volume at OFF. Then switch on and adjust the volume to approximately the 10 to 11 o’clock position.
  5. Back it off slightly. Listeners hear more than you do. Never point the speaker toward the microphone.

The same five steps are on the quick-start card in the box. The full user guide explains each one.
